Profile
The Afghan Links News Letter is a spin-off from the British and
Irish Agencies Afghanistan Group (BAAG) Bulletin that I created
after September 11th in response to a need for up to the minute
information.
For the first few months it was issued daily then became a weekly
e-bulletin which is still being published for BAAG Members.
During a secondment from BAAG to ACBAR - the Kabul based Agency
Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief - I trained staff there to
produce their own local version of a bulletin which is still going
strong. Please refer to
www.acbar.org
After leaving BAAG in 2004 I realised there was a need for news on
Afghanistan that went wider than the BAAG membership so decided to
publish the Afghan Links Newsletter as a free e-publication on a
regular basis.
Currently the readership numbers around 600 and continues to grow.
It includes UK, Dutch and Afghan Government personnel, NGOs and the UN, BBC
and other media, business people, academics and others who have a
positive contribution to make.
The Newsletter is now published monthly for people with a keen interest in Afghanistan -
its history and future, people and culture.
It invites news and views from anyone who wishes to create and
maintain constructive links with Afghanistan by sharing their
expertise, information and ideas in any field. If you want to
contribute please send in your news, views, opinion or analysis to
Jeanne at
